Computing Limit Config

What This Admin Tool Does

Computing Limit Config controls daily free CIF quotas and computing-credit overage rules for expensive structure jobs such as Phonon Stability Screening and Structure Relaxation.

Default Limits

• Unverified users: 3 CIFs per day.
• Verified non-academic users: 10 CIFs per day.
• Verified academic users: 50 CIFs per day.
• Admin users bypass limits by default.
• Archive uploads are counted by the number of CIF files inside the ZIP, TAR, TAR.GZ, or TGZ file.

Credits

When a user exceeds the daily free quota, each extra CIF consumes the app's configured credit cost. Admins can grant or remove credits from the Computing Limit Config page. The credit ledger records every adjustment and every overage reservation.

Admin Workflow

Open Admin Dashboard, then choose Computing Limit Config before Marketing. Admins can enable or disable enforcement globally, toggle enforcement per app, adjust tier limits, change the credit cost for overage CIFs, view today's usage, and manually adjust user credits.

Notes

Quota reservation happens when the job is submitted so expensive jobs cannot be queued beyond the user's allowance. The daily reset timezone is configurable and defaults to America/New_York.
